NBC believes in "Revolution" and has decided to give the J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke lights-out drama a full season.

The network announced "Revolution" as a pickup for full seasons along with two other new shows, the comedies "The New Normal" from "American Horror Story's" Ryan Murphy and "Go On."

"We're impressed with the imagination and creative direction of the entire team on 'Revolution,' not to mention the immediately strong response we got from the audience," said Jennifer Salke, president of NBC Entertainment, in a release, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Ordering a full season of this show is a pleasure. Thanks to J.J. Abrams, Eric Kripke, Jon Favreau and everyone at Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television for their dedication to making a truly unique series."

"Revolution" premiered Sept. 17 to a 7.1 rating/11 share, one of the best premieres NBC has had in a few years. However, the show has since lost 27 percent of that audience, earning just a 5.2/8 this past week, according to Fast National overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co.

Yet the series is still beating its timeslot from last year by 45 percent, and is holding on to 87 percent of its lead-in audience from "The Voice." "Revolution" also has beaten "Hawaii Five-0" on CBS for two weeks running, although that could change if ratings for the series don't stabilize soon.

The renewals make sense, since NBC is off to one of its best starts in years, mostly thanks to adding a fall cycle of its reality competition show "The Voice." Through Monday, the network was averaging a 4.9/8 overall, good enough for third place among the networks, and up 36 percent over last year.

"Revolution" was ranked third among new shows last week behind "Vegas" (9.3/15) and "Elementary" (8.4/14) on CBS.

"Go On" and "The New Normal" air Tuesdays on NBC, averaging a 4.7/7 combined in the timeslot, up 9 percent from how the network did there last year. "Go On," however, has been the stronger of the shows averaging a 5.4/8 on Tuesdays while "New Normal" has been pulling in a 4.0/6.

"Revolution" stars Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos and Giancarlo Esposito, and airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
