NBC Delays 'Revolution' Sneak Preview To Monday

Just a little more competition for its Syfy Powerful Mondays

Believe it or not, NBC and Syfy are all part of the same company. Yet, fans tuning in for "Warehouse 13" and "Alphas" on Syfy will have to figure out how they can change channels to catch whenever NBC decides to air its sneak peek at its new post-apocalyptic series "Revolution."

NBC was expected to show the preview Saturday night after a Michael Phelps swimming race on NBC, but the network decided to air the race at a different time, and in the process, pulled the preview from its Sunday lineup. The six-minute insight was supposed to give those tuning in to the Olympics a chance to see what NBC is touting as one of its primary new shows for the fall.

But now, NBC is airing a preview Monday night, and you're going to have to look for it. And instead of getting six minutes, the network has chopped the preview down to just two minutes and 40 seconds, according to Deadline.

That's good and bad news for potential "Revolution" fans. Outside of the obvious competition with Syfy original programming, the clip is much shorter than what we originally teased. The good news is, it will likely get a much bigger audience. Mondays are a much bigger night for the Olympics, and not Saturday, which had a draw of just 28 million viewers, according to the site. That was the smallest audience so far for the Olympics this year in London.

It's not quite clear how this will affect the cross-platform tease of the show, which is supposed to be offered to places like NBC.com, Hulu and Apple's iTunes Store beginning Sept. 4. The series itself is set to bow on Sept. 17.

Set 17 years after a permanent electrical blackout brings down American society, people continue to try and live in the new world which has become its own sort of steampunk environment.

The show, from "Supernatural" creator Eric Kripke, stars Billy Burke, Giancarlo Esposito and Tracy Spiridakos.
