Brent Spiner To Play New Big Bad On 'Warehouse 13'

Move reunites two actors from TNG's 'The Most Toys'

All "Warehouse 13" is missing now is a cameo appearance from "Star Trek: Enterprise" and the original "Star Trek."

The Syfy series now has "Star Trek: The Next Generation" in the house with a planned six-episode stint from none other than Mr. Data himself, Brent Spiner, who has signed on to "Warehouse 13" as a nemesis to warehouse curator Artie Nielsen, played by Airlock Alpha Portal Award nominee Saul Rubinek.

Spiner will play Brother Adrian, according to TV Guide, the leader of a secretive group known as the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Black Diamond. Not much is known about this group or Spiner's character, except that it could very well be the Big Bad for Season 4 of "Warehouse 13."

"Artie Nielsen and the gang are on a mission to pull their lives back together, and Brother Adrian is a major obstacle to that," showrunner Jack Kenny told TV Guide. "The Brotherhood is descended from the Knights Templar and connected to the Vatican. It is charged with the protection of many powerful artifacts, one of which Artie desperately needs to make everything right again."

But using that artifact will come at a cost. It could unleash an evil that the Vatican (nor probably anyone) wants to see, and the Brotherhood will do anything to stop it -- including fighting to their deaths.

Adrian, Kenny said, "heads a sect that is powerful and obsessively devoted, and follows no rules."

This is the first time Rubinek and Spiner have worked together since 1990 when Rubinek played collector Kivas Fajo in the "Next Generation" episode "The Most Toys."

Spiner has been more selective about his roles in recent years, appearing in the Harry Hannigan Web comedy "Fresh Hell" as well as appearances in "The Simpsons," "Alphas" and "Leverage." The actor hasn't been a part of any Star Trek projects since he played Dr. Arik Soong, an "ancestor" to Data, in a 2004 episode of "Star Trek: Enterprise" -- which would, by default, also put an "Enterprise" stamp on "Warehouse 13."

Spiner was nominated for two Saturn Awards from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, both coming in 1997, winning for "Star Trek: First Contact."

"Warehouse 13" has had a host of other Star Trek faces on the show, including recurring and occasional guest roles for Rene Auberjonois (Odo, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), Kate Mulgrew and Jeri Ryan ("Star Trek: Voyager"), and even Faran Tahir, who had a smaller role in J.J. Abrams' 2009 version of "Star Trek."

"Warehouse 13," which was recently nominated for seven Airlock Alpha Portal Awards including a nod for Best Series/Television, returns to Syfy July 23.
