Syfy Looks To 'Eureka' For 'Bob From Corporate'

Jaime Paglia, James Middleton on board new adventure series

Jaime Paglia is not giving himself too much of a break now that production of "Eureka" is over. In fact, he's sticking around at Syfy with a new project created by an alumnus from the American Film Institute.

"Bob From Corporate" is a project from Eric Rochford centered around a secretive organization known as "Corporate" charged with solving cases that involve crazy science. It's led by what Variety calls a highly moral and enigmatic leader who carries a "very big gun."

Rochford was a student at AFI when he met producer Rich Silverman, who was speaking to one of Rochford's classes. Silverman liked what he saw and Rochford, and not only became his manager, but helped him develop the pilot for "Bob From Corporate."

They are joined by "Alphas" director Matt Hastings as well as "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" executive producer James Middleton.

The entire project is being developed through a first-look deal Hastings had with Syfy's programming parent, Universal Cable Productions. If picked up by Syfy, this would be the first major project for both Silverman and Rochford.

No timetable for the pilot has been set, nor has any casting been announced. Hastings would likely helm the pilot, and Syfy could make a decision on whether to move forward with the project later this year.

Paglia is no stranger to convincing Syfy to give someone new to the industry a try. "Eureka" was his first credited project, which he co-created with Andrew Cosby, and it became one of Syfy's biggest hits until it was cancelled late last year. It will finish its run on Syfy this spring.

There is a show like this already,it's called Fringe. Once Fox cancels Fringe, Syfy should just pick it up!
