"Terra Nova" had a strong week this week thanks to a good lead-in from playoff baseball, but other shows on the network genre schedule aren't doing too well.
Here's hoping that the somewhat competing shows of "Once Upon a Time" on ABC on "Grimm" on NBC will help turn that around a little bit heading into November sweeps.
"Terra Nova" roared up a 6.3 rating/9 share, according to Fast National overnight ratings from The Nielsen Co. Although it's likely influenced by baseball ratings, those are the best numbers "Terra Nova" have posted for the season, and were a full ratings point higher -- almost 19 percent -- than the previous week.
The show actually was Fox's highest-rated scripted program of the sports-shortened week, and was among the network's tops overall, tying one night of "The X Factor," and finishing slightly behind another night.
"Fringe" has remained steady for Fox on Fridays, as has "Vampire Diaries" on The CW on Thursdays. "The Secret Circle" seems to have found its stable audience, but is losing about 18 percent of its "Vampire Diaries" lead-in.
"Supernatural" is really struggling, however. It's averaging a 1.1/2, keeping most of the audience from its "Nikita" lead-in, but is down 21 percent from its number last year. That's after last year losing 20 percent of its audience from a year before. Yet it's finishing just below the 1.2 household average The CW has been scraping together this season.

Fast Nationals usually provide a snapshot of what Americans are watching by pulling numbers from the top urban markets that include both live viewing and same-day timeshifted viewing. A rating point generally represents more than 1.1 million households while the share indicates the percentage of televisions turned on that was tuned to the specific program. These numbers typically shift when final ratings are issued.
