Just in time to promote her new movie, "Scooby-Doo," Sarah Michelle Gellar of UPN's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is set to host the MTV Movie Awards.
The show, which will be taped June 1 but airs June 6 on the cable network, also will be host by Jack Black of "Shallow Hal" and "High Fidelity" fame.
"Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar have a great ability to connect with our audience and will no doubt add their own flair to the musical theme that is planned for the show," said MTV president Van Toffler.
Gellar is no stranger to the MTV stage. She won awards for best female performance and bess kiss (with Selma Blair) in 1999's "Cruel Intentions."
