This review may contain spoilers.

Caprica came back for the second half of its first season this week, and it's about time! The show ended on quite the cliffhanger - we were to assume that Amanda Graystone (Paula Malcomson) was dead but, tah-dah, she's not! Though one might have cleverly divulged this from the opening credits of the show - it was nice to see her again.

Poor Daniel Graystone (Eric Stoltz) is sobbing into his Ambrosia when he decides to pull himself out of the despairs of his poor-little-rich-boy life and partner with the Adamas in an attempt to get his incredibly successful corporation back. Much luck to you Daniel, as long as you stay on the Adama familys good side.

After the first half of the season ended on such a somber note - that of Amanda's would-be suicide, and the destruction of the first centurion in a fiery car crash, it seemed odd that Zoey (Alessandra Torresani) was reduced to about five minutes of air time. She did make quite an entrance, and when she finally tracks down Tamara Adama (Genevieve Buechner) it should be quite the scene.

As hard as it is to like Clarice (Polly Walker), there is something intriguing about her. Her harshness harkens back to our favorite Admiral; Admiral Cain (Michelle Forbes) that is. She's a tough woman - she does what she wants and she gets what she wants no matter what the cost. That cost appears to be high if she follows through with her plan to blow up the Caprica City Buccanneers, the stadium, and all of the poor spectators in attendance. She's just lethal enough to pull it off, but for a woman of such immense religious conviction - can she pull it off? It's one thing to murder a man who stands in your way, but another to take down a million or so people in the name of your cause.

What Worked

There was a lot of religion in this episode which is actually quite beautiful in the grand scheme of the show. As we know, the Cylons will eventually come to worship one God, and the humans will stick with their polytheistic ways. To see how all of this came to be, and to attempt to connect the dots based on the information we have been given already is quite fun. It's safe to assume that STO will have something to do with the spiritual ways of the first Cylons, and it will probably come together beautifully - in the way that sends chills down your spine.

What Didn't Work

With the exception of major characters being reduced to just a few minutes of air time, this was a pretty fantastic way to start the rest of the season. This particular episode was so jam packed with heavy material (virtually no filler), that it absolutely helped to watch it twice. Don't delete this one from your Tivo without watching it more than once - things moved quickly and it can a bit of a puzzler.
