Supergirl Returns To 'Smallville'
CW series also will wave goodbye to Allison Mack
In a Kryptonian-heavy ninth season, many fans were left wondering what happened to Kara Kent in all the apocalyptic festivities.
Well, it looks like Season 10 will at least offer some answers.
Laura Vandervoort, who currently plays V girl Lisa on the ABC series, has signed on to return to the show during the final season. Entertainment Weekly has reported that the deal is for a single episode, however there are other sources suggesting that her return is for at least one outing, suggesting she may have additional episodes.
But for V fans wondering how her return to Smallville will affect the alien-drama, the answer is it wont. Both V and Smallville are filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, and are produced by Warner Bros. Television, so shifting the actress from one show to the other is a relatively smooth process.
Vandervoorts first appearance will be in Supergirl, which will air in the first block of episodes in October.
Also returning to the series this year is John Schneider who played Jonathon Kent in the first five seasons of the series. After winning the election for a Senate seat (and a round of fisticuffs with Lionel Luthor), Jonathon died of a heart attack. However, almost five seasons, later he will return for one, possible two episodes.
Schneider will make his first appearance in the Season 10 premiere Lazarus. Given the nature of the cliffhanger ending at the end of Season 9, predications have already been made that his role will come in the form of a near-death experience or hallucination for the Man-of-Steel.
Season 10 also will serve as the first year without Allison Mack, who has played Chloe Sullivan since the pilot, as a series regular. Mack will appear in a handful of episodes this season
Im coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloes Smallvillelegacy properly, Mack said. Its been a life-changing ride, and I look forward to what lies ahead with the strength of a superheroas my foundation.
Smallville returns Sept. 24 on The CW.
