There are only two more adventures to go before we see David Tennant pass on his sonic screwdriver to Matt Smith. The first part of "The End Of Time" is scheduled to be a darker festive adventure for UK viewers as it takes on the traditional primetime slot on Christmas Day.

But, unlike previous years, fans in America won't have long to wait until it hits their own screens.

BBC America has announced that the Christmas special episode, featuring the return of Catherine Tate, will premiere on Boxing Day ... only a day after it airs in the UK.

Nothing has been mentioned on the second part of the outing, however the conclusion -- which reportedly includes appearances by Capt. Jack (John Barrowman), Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and The Master (John Simms) -- is expected to be broadcast on BBC One around New Year.

And, to keep the audience primed for maximum impact, BBC America will be broadcasting "The Waters Of Mars" on Dec. 19, only a week before "The End Of Time."
