NBC will host a panel for its struggling series off-site

Fans making their way to San Diego later this month for Comic-Con seem to have been granted a wish by NBC.

"Heroes" will indeed be a part of the Comic-Con atmosphere. But it won't quite be at Comic-Con itself.

NBC will host a "Heroes" panel not at the San Diego Convention Center where all the other Comic-Con panels will be, but instead will be held in the Indigo Room of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront. It will include creator Tim Kring as well as cast members Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, Adrian Pasdar and Zachary Quinto. It also will have guest stars Robert Knepper, Dawn Olivieri, Ray Park and Madeline Zima.

A full crew considering early reports that "Heroes" would not present at the convention that attracts some 150,000 fans every year. However, it seems those initial stories were correct if "Heroes" is hosting its panel off-site, suggesting the decision was made after the panel scheduling deadline for Comic-Con.

The panel will take place July 25 beginning at 3:15 p.m. The hotel is just outside the convention center, so would likely be a short jaunt for fans wanting to check out not only what's new for "Heroes" this season, but also get a Season 4 preview made exclusively for the convention.

Comic-Con's full schedule has yet to be released, so it's unclear what kind of competition "Heroes" will have on Saturday.

It's not clear if the panel is limited to Comic-Con pass holders, or if it's open to the public since it's off-site. No other details were released.

"Heroes" returns for its fourth season in the fall, but with a reduced order of between 18 and 20 episodes.
