‘Game Of Thrones’ Adds To Cast

‘Deep Space Nine’ actor Alexander Siddig among actors joining fantasy series

Casting for Season 5 of “Game of Thrones” is moving swiftly, and HBO revealed the newest additions today at Comic-Con International.

Members of the kingdom of Dorne — the late Prince Oberyn’s (Pedro Pascal) desert homeland — make up a sizable portion of the announcement.

Dorne plays a key role in author George R.R. Martin’s novels “A Feast for Crows” and “A Dance with Dragons,” which Season 5 is based on. Elements from both novels — originally intended by Martin to be one book — have already been featured in Season 4 and may stretch into Season 6.

Joining the series for Season 5:

–Alexander Siddig will play Doran Martell, Oberyn’s older brother and the ruling lord of Dorne. Siddig is known to sci-fi fans for playing Dr. Bashir on “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.”

–Toby Sebastian (“After the Dark”) will play Trystane Martell, Doran’s son and heir to Dorne. He is betrothed to Cersei and Jaime Lannister’s daughter, Myrcella.

–Nell Tiger Free (“Broken”) will play Myrcella, who was shipped off to Dorne in Season 2. Aimee Richardson previously played the role.

–Keisha Castle-Hughes (“Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith”) will play Obara Sand, a deadly warrior and one of Oberyn’s bastard daughters.

–Jessica Henwick (“Spirit Warriors”) will play Nymeria Sand, another of Oberyn’s bastard daughters.

–DeObia Oparei (“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”) will play Areo Hotah, an officer with Doran Martell’s palace guard.

–Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (“The Whistleblower”) will play Tyene Sand, another of Oberyn’s bastard daughters. Her mother is Ellaria Sand (Indira Varma), who accompanied Oberyn to King’s Landing.

–Jonathan Pryce (“Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”) will play the High Sparrow of King’s Landing, who becomes an influential religious leader as the season progresses.

–Enzo Cilenti (“Next”) will play Yezzan, a former slaver.
