One of the stars of the one-time post-apocalyptic hit series Revolution has found his way to FX.
J.D. Pardo is the new star of Mayans MC, the spin-off to the cable channel’s longtime favorite Sons of Anarchy. He will play EZ Reyes, a prospect for the charter bike gang along the California and Mexico border who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel as well as his need for respect from the women he loves.”
Pardo joins a cast that includes the recently added former Battlestar Galactica star Edward James Olmos.
As James Neville in Revolution, Pardo played a member of a militia that rose up in the United States once all of the ability to use electricity disappeared. Although he was tasked to find someone who threatens his leader’s cause, Neville falls in love with one of the show’s main protagonists, Charlie Matheson, played by Tracy Spiridakos.
The series was created by Eric Kripke of Supernatural fame, who most recently has run the new NBC series Timeless.
Mayans MC, however, was created by Kurt Sutter – who also was responsible for Sons – as well as Elgin James, who Sutter says will provide the voice necessary for a bike gang that would be found in border territory.
