Warner Bros. already is looking at life after DC Comics – or quite possibly, an even bigger life with many of the publisher’s properties.

In fact, the studio has expanded its comics reach, singing a new deal with Archie Comics, the independent publisher that The CW’s newest series Riverdale is based on. In fact, it’s the success of Riverdale to this point that encouraged Warner Bros. to tackle more of the characters and stories Archie has to offer.

That could include new projects involving characters not as known in the ArchieVerse, according to The Hollywood Reporter, including fashion icon Katy Keene, and even some super friends from Archie’s Dark Circle imprint.

Jon Goldwater, a descendant of one of the company’s founders John L. Goldwater, has been aggressive in his approach to bring the characters and stories into the modern era. A lot of that has culminated in Riverdale, which stars K.J. Apa and Lili Reinhart, but also in other moves in recent years like introducing a gay character, and even tackling life for Archie not just after high school, but also after marriage.
