CBS is looking everywhere it can for what it hopes will be the right cast mix for Star Trek: Discovery – including places like The Walking Dead and even the musical Rent.

But now, how about a little Sneaky Pete and 30 Rock?

Filming for Discovery already is underway, and the production has added three more cast members who will play Starfleet officers in the prequel series. They include Terry Serpico as Adm. Anderson, Maulik Pancholy as Dr. Nambue and Sam Vartholomeos as Ensign Connor.

Serpico, who earned a Daytime Emmy nomination last year for the children’s series The Inspectors, is probably best known for his role as Frank Sherwood in the Lifetime series Army Wives. However, more recently, viewers had a chance to check him out in the Amazon crime drama created by David Shore and Bryan Cranston, Sneaky Pete.

While he made a film appearance last year in The Purge: Election Year, his work has been primarily television, including more recent CBS outings like Elementary and Limitless.
