Fox is continuing its deal with the devil, renewing its DC Comics-based series Lucifer for a third full season.
With one quick announcement, Fox wiped away some of the concerns that have surrounded the show’s fate as of late, particularly with the network’s decision to give the show a four-month break, to pick back up in May. It also didn’t help that Lucifer composer Marco Beltrami is being sued for copyright infringement over the show’s theme song.
But apparently that was all just noise, according to Variety, as Fox has requested a 22-episode third season to begin in the fall.
David Madden, the entertainment head of Fox Broadcasting, praised the cast that includes Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar – you know, the devil – who gives up his day job in Hell in order to solve crimes with the Los Angeles Police Department.
