Could one of the more memorable actors from Stranger Things be heading toward superstardom? It might all depend on how audiences receive Legendary’s upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Millie Bobby Brown, the pre-teen (for another few weeks at least) who stars as the mysterious Eleven in the Netflix series, is actually the first actor to come aboard the project from Krampus director Michael Dougherty. And just like Eleven, according The Hollywood Reporter, we really don’t know what exactly Brown will do in the giant lizard’s latest movie.
The Godzilla feature is a sequel to the 2014 outing that starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, and grossed $529.1 million worldwide.
Legendary hopes to build a new major film franchise surrounding its oversized bad guys from the past including not just Godzilla, but also the big gorilla himself, King Kong. Dougherty and his writing partner Zach Shields are helping to mold that franchise together, to the point Dougherty just won the director’s chair for King of Monsters late last week.
