You probably already know about the San Francisco Giants hosting a Star Trek night in September in time for the franchise’s 50th anniversary. But another National League baseball team, the Miami Marlins, have plans to do its own Star Trek night just in time for the premiere of “Star Trek: Beyond.”
The Marlins will host the special event July 23 during a game with the New York Mets, according to Redshirts Always Die.
Tickets to the game start at $30, and a VIP package is available that includes a ticket to the game and a Star Trek-theme Marlins T-shirt. The game also will be bobblehead night for the first 10,000 fans, honoring Marlins pitcher Dontre Willis.
The T-shirt is two crossed baseball bats, the Marlins logo, and the Star Trek logo.
The Giants will now be the second team to host a Star Trek night when they take on the St. Louis Cardinals Sept. 16. This game will feature Trek just a week after the franchise turns 50. The ticket package price there started at $104, at least back when the Giants first announced the promotion in February.
