Fresh off a successful run on “American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson,” Bruce Greenwood has lined up yet another high-profile television project: ABC’s remake of the 1987 film, “Dirty Dancing.”
Greenwood — who Trek fans know for his role of Christopher Pike in 2009’s “Star Trek” as well as “Star Trek: Into Darkness” — has signed on to play Jake Houseman in the film, the father to Abigail Breslin’s Baby.
If you don’t remember the Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey film from the 1980s, Baby is dragged by her father to a resort in the Catskills for the summer, where she falls in love with a dance instructor, and decides to become a dancer herself. Jake in that film was played by Jerry Orbach, who died in 2004.
